OUR BEGINNINGS
In 2001, 45 combat veterans of a Combat Veterans Motorcycle Club banded together to form non-profit Veteran’s Association with the single objective of helping Veterans. The two main things that brought them together were motorcycle riding and being Veterans that had served in combat zones or theaters of operation.
An attempt to forge a relationship with the VFW was made but receive little support. The membership voted to move on with a separate organization focused on all veterans.
In 2002 the membership agreed on a one piece patch on the CVMA background with a skull logo and an embedded skull. Membership requirements are having serve in combat and ride a motorcycle as a hobby. This patch is worn by Full Members only. Support Member and Auxiliary Member patches are similar.
The emblem of the CVMA is in the shape of a skull encompassed by the following colors: Red, representing the blood that has been shed on the battlefield; Military Gold, representing all branches of the military service of the United States; and Black, representing the heavy hearts possessed for those who gave their lives and for those that are considered Missing in Action (MIA) or Prisoners of War (POW). The skull and ace of spades represents the death that was leaves in its wake.
